Jim Murray was a creative educator.  His love for music, sports, astronomy, theology, philosophy, history, literature, etc.  made him a real  Rennaisance man.  He began his employment in education in the Clyde school district as the Junior High Band Director.  He then returned to his Alma Mater, Oak Harbor schools, to become the Junior High Band director.  He became the Director of the "Pride of Oak Harbor" in 1991, the marching and symphonic bands.  He turned his talents to computer technology and finished his Master's degree in Educational Technology from Lourdes College.  He finished his employment at Oak Harbor by serving as the Director of Technology for the District.  Retirement did not end his involvement in education.  He volunteered to direct the educational online platform for the Diocese of Toledo.  He also adjuncted in music for Lourdes University, being the director of the first pep band.  Jim was a wonderful composer, writing many pieces performed around the area but also professionally published. 

Jim's untimely death on March 10, 2019, from angiosarcoma,which is a cancer of the blood vessel lining and it was in his liver. It caused great sorrow for those of us who loved him.  Therefore we have started a scholarship fund in his memory, to continue his love for education.
