Meet Our 2023-24 Scholarship Recipients
Ellie Dible
Ellie is a 2023 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School. Ellie is quite active in music. She started her career using her great-grandfather's clarinet which he bought on an army base. She still has it and played it for her audition for Ohio University's instrumental Music Program. Ellie has been active in Band since Junior High. She was a part of the OMEA District Honors Band, The USHS Marching Band, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble. She participated in the Ohio Northern University Honors Band and the high school musical orchestra pit. Her main instrument is the clarinet, but we also plays the contra base clarinet and the oboe. Ellie was also a part of the golf team. Seems like a perfect winner for Jim's scholarship.
Bethany Smith
Bethany is a 2023 graduate of Allen East High School. She began her music career in Junior High. She participated in the BGSU Honors Band and Solo and Ensemble. The clarinet was her first instrument, but then she moved onto brass, now playing the French Horn and Mellophone. and has participated in the Ohio Univerity March Band Day and the Ohio Northern Honors Band. Bethany also participated in Solo and Enselbme contest and Large Group Contest. Bethany has tried her hand at conducting. She assists her band direcor during her study hall with the Junior High Band. He allowed her to conduct a piece at one of the Junior High Concerts. Bethany will also be attending Ohio University in the Instrumental Music Program. We are honored to have her as a winner of this scholarship.
2021 Scholarship Renewals
Arianna Consolo and Danielle Consolo will have their scholarships renewed for the upcoming academic year, 2021-2022. Both has excelled at Bowling Green State University in the Instrumental Music program. They have received high recommendations from the music department at Bowling Green. We are so happy that they are continuing their studies and represent the spirit of music that was a part of Jim's life.
Scholarship Renewals 2022 & 2023
Arianna Consolo, Danielle Consolo and Gracie Hayes have had their scholarship renewed for the academic year of 2022-2023 and 2023-2024. All three young women have received high recommendations from the music department at Bowling Green State University. We are so happy that they are continuing their music education.
